Bringing Happiness to the World One Puppy at a Time!
What is a Hybrid (or Designer) dog?
The word 'Hybrid', when referring to genetics means, the offspring of genetically dissimilar parents or stock, especially the offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties, species, or races. In general the word means, 'something of mixed origin or composition.' Hybrid dogs, or designer dogs as some call them, are becoming quite popular.
What's the difference between a designer dog and a mutt? Generally, a mutt is of uncertain ancestry. A designer dog has documented purebred ancestry, and one knows for sure what it is.
Designer Dog?? What the heck is a designer dog you ask?? A "designer" dog (as the media has labeled them) is a cross between two purebred dogs. A purebred dog is one that has been bred over many generations to breed true.
The puppies shown below are hybrid Cocker Spaniel-Australian Terrier cross. They are 4 1/2 weeks old in the photos below. Two of the puppies show definite sable markings, which they got from their father, Harley, a chocolate Sable Cocker Spaniel. The 3 other puppies are still an uncertain mix of both parents. More to come as their personalities emerge.

An armful of beautiful babies!
Ava is black and tan with a small patch of white on her chest..
Zena is black and tan with no white showing.
Rufus is the most developed at 4 1/2 weeks. He reminds us of a baby rottweiler with his colors!
Rudy is a big baby, he likes to snuggle, and wants to be in contact with his littermates at all times.
Reuban is by favorite as far as color goes, he is the lighter sable of the two boys, and so far he is quite brave!
The puppies will be ready for their new homes at 8 weeks, as long as they are all eating food with out difficulty. They will have at least their first shots, and they will be wormed. Tales have been docked and the dew claws have been removed.
Price for the puppies is $150, shipping is extra, if needed.
